While the city of Fulleron is embroiled in the scandal of the police , they are now facing a new lawsuit brought on by Veth Mam. Garo Madirossian, attorney for Mam, claims his client was falsely arrested and that the Fullerton police falsified documents.

Mam was arrested last year when he was recording the arrest of his friend, Sokha Leng. At one point, officer Kenton Hampton knocked Mam's camera from his hand, threw him to the ground and arrested him. Another witness picked up the camera and continued to record the arrest of Mam by police.

Mam was charged with assault, battery and resisting arrest.

According to the Los Angeles Times, "Officer Frank Ngyuen alleged that Mam jumped on another officer's back and choked him. Ngyuen wrote that he pulled Mam off the officer's back and pushed him away. The officer claimed Mam continued to approach the officers, who arrested him."

In court last month, the officers involved testifed to this story and the video was played for the jury. Mam was acquitted once the jury saw that the video did not support the testimony of the officers.

This will be the second videotape that calls into question the actions of the Fullerton police department. Acting Chief Kevin Hamilton said the tape seems to show that the police did indeed arrest the wrong man.

According to a Huffington Post article, "Mardirossian said he's been told by someone who saw the Thomas encounter that Hampton was one of the six officers involved. Police have refused to release the officers' names, citing an ongoing investigation."
