Photos: Tea Party Rally in Mission Viejo

Tea Partiers held a tax day protest at the corner of La Paz Road and Marguerite Parkway in Mission Viejo Friday, sponsored by the Republican Party of Orange County and the Saddleback Republican Assembly.

A tea party protest was held Friday afternoon from 4:30 to 6:30 at the corner of of La Paz Road and Marguerite Parkway in Mission Viejo, sponsored by the Republican Party of Orange County and the Saddleback Republican Assembly.

Protesters shouted from a bullhorn on one corner, while on another corner a public address system pumped out political speeches and songs. Each corner had protesters waving flags and signs.

When traffic stopped, protesters waved at cars and sometimes chatted up passengers.

About halfway through the two-hour event, Patch counted 67 protesters. Event organizers estimated 700 attended last year.
