Please note that La Paws Park is still a work in progress. They will be adding water fountains andRead More poop bag stations to both the small and large dog areas. Also coming are shade structures, more furnitue and more planting. Please keep an eye on your dog with the two gates to enter. Also, let's keep the dog park safe and clean. Thank you!

It was wonderful to see all those happy, non-barking, dogs. Hunter had a ball. I drove pastRead More yesterday just before noon and there were about 30 cars in the parking lot. So much for the lie about how this park won't be used.

Margot is too modest to mention her tireless efforts for the American Cancer Society, and theRead More extraordinary work she does by volunteering and organizing for such worthy causes. She recently won the Terry Zahn Award for her contributions (http://bit.ly/1hVAhlR) So I thought I'd do so and say, thank you, Margot.

It was very sad to hear about Rick Warren's son's suicide. How devastating to a parent. What isRead More also devastating is having a child commit suicide because of their feelings of hopelessness, guilt and shame. Hopelessness because their church leader has told them they cannot ever be in a relationship with the person that they love; never get married, never have anyone to grow old with. Guilt because their church leaders tell them that who they are is against God's will, that somehow they are less than equal to their straight counterparts. Shame because they've tried for as long as they can remember to quash the feelings that they have. While I feel sorry that Warren's son committed suicide, I am furious that Warren continues his message against LGBTQ people, contributing to the suicides of so many other people's children.
