Until the government and utility companies allow homeowners to sell back to the utilities theRead Moreexcess power generated by personal panels beyond our personal consumption needs, this program is a waste of your time and money. In So. Cal (with all the sunny days), if every house and business had panels, most of the need for power purchased by SDGE would go away. But because this is not their business model, will disrupt their supply chain, and is a monopolistic business, this program is nothing more than "feel good" marketing chicanery born from the coupling of politics, activists, and big business. While they let big business sell back to the utilities any excess power from the private business panels, that is not the case with homeowners. Do your homework, ask a ton of questions and follow the money. Bet you come to the same conclusion of not wasting your money on this charade of a program (and even after the lining of your pockets with those wasteful taxpayer funded incentives). Why should you foot the bill invesitng in this BS proposition to "save the planet" from fossil fuels when the utilities have zero interest in putting themselves out of business. Until the government breaks the stranglehold utilities have on citizens (as they did with.AT&T), nothing will change in energy generation. Like the war on drugs, this is nothing more than political theater. Run Forrest, Run.
