Review: Friends Remember Victim of Allegedly Drunken Crash

The story saddened many in South County. Ted Brewsaugh, 29, grew up in Mission Viejo playing baseball and enjoying the outdoors with his recent fiance.

His pleasant life came to an end Saturday, six days after he lost consciousness after experiencing severe head trauma in a deadly Irvine car crash.

Patch users took to the message boards to remember their lost friend.

Daniel Smyth described Brewsaugh as a "dear friend" who had proposed to his fiance last month.

"I will always remember the massive influence he had in making me the husband and father I am today," Smyth said. "I hope for all of us who knew Ted that we could look back on the memories we had with him with fondness."

Another friend of the family, Jerry Michael, remembered Brewsaugh and his parents Alex and Ginger through Little League.

Michael said he and his family were "saddened by this loss of a wonderful young man and a life of promise that has ended too soon."

Smyth also had sharp words for the man police say was driving drunk when the crash took place. No charges have been filed against Brad Marsicano, also from Mission Viejo, but Irvine Police have said he will be turned over to the Orange County District Attorney's Office for prosecution.
