Kilts and Cabers Invade South County This Weekend

Here are four things to keep you informed about Mission Viejo and Orange County for Friday, Aug. 22.

  1. A spunky two-year-old terrier mix named Rosa is looking for a family. You can find out about adopting her and other animals from Mission Viejo Animal Services.
  2. A dance program designed to help special needs children express themselves is coming to the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center on Mondays, August 26, Sept. 16, 30, Oct. 14 and 18 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. "Move to the Beat of Your Heart" is made to teach children how to express their thoughts and feelings without using words.
  3. Fake grass could be coming to a front lawn near you. The City Council approved water-saving artificial turf Monday night
  4. The California Celtic Classic brings log-tossing, kilt-wearing sport to Sea Terrace Park from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. There's a free shuttle from Dana Hills High. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the park, with children 12 and under free.
