Ask Mission Viejo Soccer Star Julie Foudy Anything

Here are five things to keep you informed about Mission Viejo and Orange County for Tuesday, Aug. 20.

  1. The Orange County Fire Authority is warning residents of the dangers of drowning accidents and deaths. So far this year 19 people have drowned in the OCFA coverage area, including 15 adults, Chief Kirk Wells said.
  2. Mission Viejo High soccer star Julie Foudy has prompted the American Youth Soccer Organization to declare Foudy Day today, Aug. 20. At noon Foudy will answer your questions live. Ask a question by tweeting #AskJulieFoudy.
  3. Kaleidoscope Center will continue its Kaleido-Kids Summer Events. The series will continue with "Lego Playtime." Kaleido-Kids will run through Aug. 27. 27741 Crown Valley Parkway.

  4. On Monday evening, the City Council approved annexation of 3.93 acres from the county to enforce city laws on a new dog park. The city plans to open the park early next year.
