Get Your Grub on Thursday at Restaurant Showcase

Here are five things to keep you informed about Mission Viejo and Orange County for Wednesday, Sept. 4.

  1. If you like tastes, morsels and samples, check this out: A business/restaurant showcase is coming to the Norman P. Murray Community Center, 24932 Veterans Way, Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m.
  2. If you own preferred or preference stock from San Diego Gas and Electric, take note: the energy company is buying back these stocks as of Oct. 15. Learn more here.
  3. A Laguna Niguel boy has gone missing on his way back from college. His family says Bryce Laspisa's truck was found empty with his wallet and cell phone inside near Lake Castaic Friday.
  4. The first day of school is coming up quickly. For Saddleback Valley Unified students, school starts Tuesday, Sept. 10. For Capistrano Valley Unified students, the school day begins Monday, Sept. 9. Sept. 9 is a minimum day for elementary school students at Capo.
  5. A Mission Viejo office complex recently sold for over $50 million. Real estate trackers say it's a strong sign the long commercial real estate slump may be coming to an end.
