How Mission Viejo Remembers 9/11

Here are some ways Mission Viejo is preparing to remember those who suffered during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001:

  1. Local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and city officials will commemorate the 12th anniversary of 9/11 at 5:30 p.m. near the flagpoles at Mission Viejo Civic Center (200 Civic Center). The event will feature a flag ceremony, patriotic songs and a few guest speakers.
  2. Mission Viejo High School encourages students and staff to wear red, white and blue today in memory of the victims of Sept. 11.
  3. A wounded veteran's home will be repaired by a team of volunteers on Calle Ganador from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. OneOC is organizing the event, which will include 60 Bank of America volunteers.
  4. From 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., neighbors to the west Laguna Niguel will host a free patriotic concert featuring the Saddleback Valley Chorale. The concert is being held at the Crown Valley Community Park Amphitheater, 29751 Crown Valley Parkway. Check out this flyer for more info.
