Outdoor Showing of 'The Lorax' Free Friday Night in the Library Garden

Here are five things to keep you informed about Mission Viejo and Orange County for Friday, Sept. 6.

  1. This year in Orange County, 46 people have had drowning accidents. Twenty-two of those were fatal. Learn tips from the Orange County Fire Authority to keep you and your loved ones alive here.
  2. If you want to learn more about the sport of wrestling, check out this video from Capistrano Valley High head wrestling coach Rich Bordner. You'll learn the meaning of wrestling terms like "takedown" and "pin," and find out how the sport is scored.
  3. A free showing of Dr. Seuss's "The Lorax" begins at 8 p.m. outside the library in Kershaw Garden. The PG computer animation is a satirical warning against the dangers of disregarding the environment. Snacks will be available for purchase. For more info call 830-7066 or visit mvactivities.com.

  5. Interested in seeing life-sized reconstructions of Leonardo DaVinci's inventions? You'll need to act fast. The Discovery Science Center in Santa Ana is hosting the exhibit "Da Vinci: The Genius" until Sunday.
