Bruno and Amber Looking for "Furever" Families

Today marks the beginning of a weekly “Adopt-A-Pet” blog featuring a dog and cat currently available for adoption at The Pet Rescue Center. Located in Mission Viejo, The Pet Rescue Center is a 501c3 non-profit organization that rescues, rehabilitates, and re-homes pets saved from euthanasia at high-kill shelters. These pets are provided with a veterinarian-supervised, temporary sanctuary, while we work to find an adopting family for them.

This week, I am featuring Bruno and Amber, both saved earlier this year from euthanasia at the county shelter in Orange.

Bruno, a two-year-old male Pit Bull mix, was previously featured in Patch in February and again in May. His story is truly remarkable, and he is now ready for a new family to love. Bruno weighs just under 60 lbs., and is neutered, micro-chipped, house-trained, up-to-date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats. He knows basic commands and has the heart and soul of a big puppy. Bruno is ready for a family, and wants someone to play fetch with and cuddle with. The more people in the home, the better, because he loves attention and affection. Bruno is going to be a very special addition for a very special family.

Amber
is a seven-year-old female long-haired kitty. Amber was so sweet and affectionate, we couldn’t resist rescuing her from the shelter. She was named after her beautiful amber-colored eyes. She is already spayed, micro-chipped, up-to-date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with other cats. Although she is an adult cat, she has many good years left. She loves people and is good around other pets, but can be a little demanding for affection. Amber would do well in many different types of homes and also like car rides!

All interested parties must fill out an Adoption Application, which will be reviewed to find the best possible match for both the pet and interested family. Completed applications can be submitted online, faxed to (949) 743-5878, or emailed to: adopt@thepetrescuecenter.org

Pets are visited by appointment only, but times are flexible. Please email Casey Oliver, Director of Operations, at The Pet Rescue Center, at adopt@thepetrescuecenter.org to arrange a meeting time. This process allows potential adopters to spend adequate time with their prospective pet and prevents long wait times.

Our adoption fee is $300 for dogs and $150 for cats, and includes spay/neuter, microchip, flea treatment, de-worming, regular veterinary check-ups, and current vaccinations. This fee helps to defray the costs of medical care, supplies and boarding while the animals are in our care.

The Pet Rescue Center has successfully saved and adopted out more than 600 dogs and cats in the past five years. If you'd like additional information, please contact me at give@thepetrescuecenter.org. The Pet Rescue Center…Rescuing Pets, Creating Families, Saving Lives.
