Maybe Pete the Editor can explain why Tim Armstrong loves the word "pivot" Guess restaurant.com pitchmen need help. http://www.forbes.com/sites/jeffbercovici/2014/01/15/aol-hands-off-patch-to-turnaround-firm-hale-global/

Nurturing isn't easy for guys. If a man has to pivot repeatedly to get up to full nurturing speed, well, then, that's what a man has to do. Don't be a hater.

OTOH, Pete is a man, a nurturer, and to my eye, doesn't pivot. Maybe he falls-away when he shoots, I don't know, there are worse habits, but he keeps his eye on the hole, and you can't truly nurture unless you keep your eye on the whole.

As you point out, Pan, this is a pivotal moment for Patch. You're watching this unfold with as much information as I have. I can say that we're unrolling some new features that will make Patch bloggers and other users more integral to the enterprise than ever before, and if anyone wants more info, email me for updates: peter.schelden@patch.com

How soon will these rollouts happen, Peter? Any idea?

"I'm told that hundreds - two tipsters claim two-thirds of the editorial staff - have been laid off by Patch's new owner, Hale Global. I have asked the company for confirmation." ___________________________________________________ http://jimromenesko.com/2014/01/29/hale-global-lays-off-patch-employees/
