Bad "sulfuric" smell at night

Has anyone else noticed an extremely sulfuric and "sewage" type smell at night in Mission Viejo? It wakes me up and my daughter and I routinely wake up with a sore throat. Anyone else notice?

That sounds very similar to what happened at the reservoir by the toll road a few years back when we had a heat spell. I think it was something growing on the surface of the water. Isn't there a reservoir behind the Lutheran church off Alicia near Trabuco? I'd call the water district in that area to find out.

I've checked with the El Toro Water District. They said they don't know what the smell could be caused by, and don't think the El Toro Reservoir is responsible. I spoke to So Cal Gas, and here's what they said: ""We have sent someone to investigate the source of the odor. We at the gas company… have not received any calls from our customers about this smell." Anytime you think you've smelled natural gas, call 1-800-427-2200 for SoCal Gas. For any sulphurous smells south of La Paz, call SDGE at 1-800-411-7343.

I notice the post was started last year, any finding? I frequently smell this odor over years, mostly at night. And it just start again right now 6/4/14 11:40PM PST. It waked my up this early morning too. Very strong ugly odor. Now I live in Aliso Viejo. One year ago, I lived in Costa Mesa. I smelt it in both cities. So it is not just mission viejo. So it is not gas leak ... Is there any chemical plant nearby? Or from sea?

Maybe it is Skunk? I saw them in Costa Mesa parks and Aliso Viejo apartment community. In both cities, I smelt the odor.
