Gospel music with worship leader Alva Copeland and the Saddleback Praise Choir and Praise Band (led by jazz artist/musician Tony Guerrero) followed by a live video-simulcast of the message from the Saddleback Church Worship Center every Sunday morning. Two services to choose from every week: 9:00am (ends 10:30am) and 11:15am (ends 1:00pm). Great fellowship and a family-friendly place to go to church. Services take place on the lower campus in Tent # 3.

Bet you ignored or didn't know that Rick Warren, head of Saddleback Church lied about his support/opposition to gay marriage. Here, let Rick speak for himself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kP6-awPJ5I&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6LCncrBWGY

Sure, do you also want to check his history on the proposed Ugandan law, which recommended the death penalty for homosexuals where first he claimed (incorrectly) that he never comments on the affairs of other countries (but quite regularly does on abortion), and only upon public pressure did he offer a tepid condemnation? Sure, Rick is entitled to talk and lie about his position on Prop 8, it is only fair that people you are trying to invite know about it. He is an American, like me, and has that right. Far be it from me to even attempt to suggest that he does not. Again, what Rick says on tape is available to all to see, and decide whether they should overloik it. That you do not see anything wrong with it, is also there for everyone, so I guess that settles it.

SK I'm just curious, is there anyone on the planet that has done right by you or do you just sit in judgement of all?
Shripathi Kamath May 22, 2011 at 04:21 AM
Your curiosity is misplaced, RG. I don't sit in judgment of all. But since you ask, I am indebted to plenty of people, starting with my parents, my siblings, my wife, my kid, my friends, my teachers, my students, my bosses, my subordinates, my colleagues, and even some strangers, without whom I wouldn't be the person I am today. I am fortunate to have met the people I have met in my life. How about yourself?

It was an amazing message, I was happy to hear it. Thanks for putting it out there Maria. And SK, I let all the people that cross my path know how great it is to meet and have had them in my life. I try not to find the one or two things that people have done that may be inadequate and focus on the good that they do. Rick Warren has done more good for more people than most would ever imagine doing, and I choose to focus on that. If he has made missteps they can't touch the good that his has given and done for those in his church and the world.

And yet you had no problems denouncing me here and others elsewhere as misanthropic and judgmental, RG. I hope you someday choose to focus on that as well.

Hear hear!

There is no denouncing of anyone but from a church announcement you chose to defile Pastor Rick just for what seemed to be you personal vendetta, and I don't believe that is right or correct when a man has done so much good for the world. I asked you a question there was no denouncing or judgement. I just pointed out that you seem to be pretty down on someone that does a lot of good around here, and I can't see why.

His actions will speak louder than any of your words do.

You took a church announcement and turned it into a smear job, and I'm just pointing that out. He is a good man that has done good things all over the world, you chose a couple of missteps that a human made. Again his actions will speak much louder than any smear job on me or him that you can attempt.
