A year ago, a train killed two young people beneath the Alicia Parkway overpass. Now mourners have gathered near the place of their death to remember Anastasia Bolton and Daniel Akins.

One year ago, an early morning Metrolink train hit and killed Daniel Akins, 22, and Anastasia Bolton, 17, beneath the Alicia Parkway overpass in Mission Viejo.

This week dozens of mourners gathered to remember the lives of the two friends killed in what police say was a tragic accident.

One inscription at the memorial reads, "Death is a strong word, but love is stronger."
