Peanut Butter Recall Expands

Following a salmonella outbreak, Archer Farms, Fresh & Easy, Sprouts, Trader Joe's and more brands of peanut butter and other nut products are being recalled.

If you've bought store-brand peanut butter or other nut butters from Target, Trader Joe's, Fresh & Easy, Sprouts or other major retailers this year, you may want to take it back for a refund or throw it away.

Sunland Inc. of New Mexico has voluntarily recalled 101 products, including peanut butter, tahini, cashew butter, peanut butter cups, almond butter and more. The products "may be contaminated with Salmonella," according to the Food and Drug Administration.

Last week, Trader Joe's recalled its Creamy Salted Valencia Peanut Butter. Now Sunland is also recalling 16-ounce containers of Trader Joe's Almond Butter with Roasted Flaxseeds Crunchy & Salted and Trader Joe's Valencia Peanut Butter with Roasted Flaxseeds, Crunchy and Salted.

The other products were manufactured on the same equipment as the Trader Joe's peanut butter, according to the Associated Press, which said none of the other products have been linked to illness.

Between June 11 and Sept. 2, 29 people reported salmonella poisoning in 18 states affected by the recall, including California. Three out of four illnesses were found in children under age 18.

Affected products include several common store-brand foods, including Archer Farms, Fresh & Easy, Sprouts and Harry and David.

The recall applies to products with best-if-used-by dates between May 1, 2013, and Sept. 24, 2013.

Here are some of the effects of salmonella poisoning, according to the FDA:

  • fever
  • diarrhea (which may be bloody)
  • nausea
  • vomiting
  • abdominal pain

Sunland's New Mexico manufacturing plant is under inspection by the FDA, the AP said.

There is a reason why sites like Patch 2.0 don't look good on Shripathi's Kindle-whatever screen,Read More but these sites do look great on the iPhone in Portrait for Landscape view. I'll be writing a post about that. If you're a business owner with a web site, you need to understand the reason in order to save money on your site.

The Bible also tells us that there were magicians who filled Egypt with blood, just like YahwehRead More helped Moses do. As to why magicians would fill the Nile (drinking supply), and their own country with blood, and stink it all up just to put Yahweh in his place is anyone's guess. Maybe this psychic can ask one of those magicians and let us know.
