If you're already blogging or just wish you were, come by Thursday between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. for free pizza and a writing discussion.

This is a casual gathering for Mission Viejo residents who like the idea of blogging, but maybe have some questions first. You might just want a few tips about what blogs people want to read. Consider this a chance to meet, pick up tips and share some of your own.

Mission Viejo Patch Editor will be there, so please drop by and let us know what you think of your community news website. If you'd like to learn how to get involved with Patch as a community contributor of photos, sports scores or other items, here's your chance to find out.

It is a private organization, so what they do with their rules, is really their business.…Read More Homophobia is not against the law, especially since they are not involved in any discriminatory practices. That said, the fact they choose to air this out allows one to comment on it. As to why anyone would wanted their kid in such an organization is beyond me, but the tide is clear, and increasingly bigotry is being chipped away. So, to those kids who want to be part of this organization, I hope it brings them some joy. It is not as if there were no gays in the Boy Scouts before, it is just that they now can announce that they exist.

And I wasn't…Read More bashing Chipotle, Charlie, I was bashing our collective notion that education is about "getting a better job." I was bashing our total disrespect for education and educators. The last thing we need to do it bash their unions. We need to take a look at the leadership of the union but the vehicle of the union is all that stands between us and corporate greed.

Dan, I read your blog about the Free Burrito for Teachers. I happen to support Chipotle, and own…Read More stock in them. One thing you need to research. THEY ARE NOT OWNED BY MCDONALDS ANYMORE!!! As I do agree, teachers are under paid, but offering something like Chipotle did is great. I think we need to bash their unions instead of great companies like Chipotle who are just offering a benefit.
