Crimes of the Heart - comedy

MVHS Drama presents the comedy,Crimes of the Heart on September 13-15 at 7:00pm in the Performing Arts Theater.  The play by Beth Henley is directed by alumni Christopher Hixson and stars Amanda Wexler, Megan Dorsey, Audrey Huerlin, Robert Augustine, Noah Mattison and Taylor Shook.  At the core of the tragic comedy are the three Magrath sisters, Meg, Babe, and Lenny, who reunite after Babe has “a really bad day”. Past resentments bubble to the surface as each sister is forced to face the consequences of the “crimes of the heart” she has committed. This Pulitzer prize-winning play is an off-beat, funny, and touching look at the true meaning of family and love.

Each year at MVHS an alumni is invited to return and direct the fall play.  This year, Chris Hixson, who recently graduated from Arizona State University has directed the seniors in "Crimes of the Heart".  The students auditioned in June and worked through the summer to have the play ready for September.  Over the years we have had alumni theater majors from New York University, Northwestern University, Cal State Fullerton, and UC San Diego share their talents with the students. It has been a part of the drama program for the past 10 years and one that the students really look forward to each year.

Tickets are $8 for students w/ASB and $10 for adults.  A special back-to-school opening night discount is offered for $6 for students w/ASB and $8 for adults. Tickets can be ordered online at www.mvhsdrama.com at seatyourself or at the door.
