Listen for Life, an organization created for the preservation and advancement of musical culture around the globe, is honored to bring its innovative energy and world-renowned musicians to Southern California to celebrate this year’s U.N. International Peace Day. A relationship which began three years ago between the U.N. organizations in Geneva and Listen for Life to create special music events that would raise awareness of U.N. International Peace Day, has blossomed each year. 

This year’s offerings in Southern California are the latest of a string of performances Listen for Life has produced, and continues the momentum of successful 2010 and 2011 Peace Day concerts in Bosnia, Croatia, the UK, Kenya, as well as the United States. Beginning September 21 Listen for Life will present four cross-cultural events at four unique venues throughout the LA-metro area. Currently, scheduled Peace Day events will take place at the following venues: the kickoff event will take place at the renowned World Cup Soccer Center of Mission Viejo on Sept 21, followed by Point Fermin Park, San Pedro, overlooking thePacific ocean on Sept 23, followed by the stunning Ford Amphitheatre in Hollywood (Sept 27) and rounding out the festival at the Ramona Bowl’s natural amphitheater in Hemet, CA on Sept 29th. 

Performers at the Peace Day-inspired events include past Emmy, Oscar and Grammy award winners and represent master-musicians of nine world cultures, performing on a total of seventeen unique instruments. Plus, it marks the debut of the Listen for Life All-Star Band. The band will feature members of many other well-known bands performing together for thefirst time.
