'Fancy Nancy' Children's Book Artist to Visit

Just a few days before Valentine's Day, Illustrator Robin Preiss Glasser is bringing a love story for children to Mission Viejo

If your little readers love all things frilly, fancy and frou-frou, they've probably come across the number-one New York Times best-seller "Fancy Nancy."

The series' illustrator will appear Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 5 p.m. in the Saddleback Room at City Hall. It's part of the city's "Writers Present" program.

Robin Preiss Glasser has been known to sport pink feather boas and long pink gloves as she meets her chic admirers in person. She's out touting the second book in the series, "Nancy Clancy, Secret Admirer."

In her latest adventure, Nancy Clancy and her best friend Bree have love on the brain (after all, they're learning about the human heart in science class). But when the girls decide to play matchmaker, nothing works out as planned.

The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Mission Viejo Library and A Whale of a Tale Bookshoppe.
