More M*A*S*H Stars to Visit Mission Viejo

They played Maxwell Klinger and Margaret "Hot Lilps" Houlihan, and they'll be in Mission Viejo next month.

Playing a cross-dressing comedian named Klinger and a no-nonsense nurse named Hot Lips made these actors famous.

Now two stars of the acclaimed 1970s drama M*A*S*H will share clips from the show and their behind-the-scenes experiences in Mission Viejo Friday, Sept. 14 at 7:30 p.m.

hosts Jamie Farr (Maxwell Klinger) and Loretta Swit (Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan). The two were part of the 11-season war drama set during the Korean conflict. In 2002, TV Guide named it among the 25 best television series ever.

This will be the second time in a month that a M*A*S*H star visits Mission Viejo. .

Farr

Jamie Farr celebrates his 57th year as a professional actor.  His first film was the 1955 MGM movie classic Blackboard Jungle.  He appeared in many TV shows, many TV movies and several TV series with M*A*S*H being the highlight of them all.  It was on for 11 seasons on CBS and has never been off the air since its introduction in 1973.  It remains the highest rated show in the history of television with America’s population at the time being 200 million and 125 million of them watching the last episode. He has an extensive television and movie background and has no plans to retire.

Swit

As quick-witted, impassioned Major Margaret Houlihan of television’s most honored series, M*A*S*H, Loretta Swit became an American icon and with its popularity now in worldwide syndication.  New fans continue to enjoy her lavish portrayal of the sensuous, sensitive, comedic Major Houlihan.  She has an extensive, Broadway, television and movie background and is as impassioned about animals as she is about theatre.  She is First Vice-President of Actors and Others for Animals, is an honorary Board member of The Wildlife Waystation, serves as Chairperson for the Hooved Animal Rescue Protection Society and is a spokesperson for The Farm Sanctuary as well as the Humane Society of the United States.

Saddleback College is located at 28000 Marguerite Pkwy in Mission Viejo, just east of Interstate 5 at the Avery Parkway exit.  Free parking is available in Lot 12.  Take Avery Parkway to Marguerite Parkway turn left to the third traffic light, which is Saddleback’s Marguerite entrance. Turn right into the campus and take the third left to “Theatre Circle,” turning right into Lot 12.
