There are only two days left to sign up for the Battle of the Bands.

Mission Viejo is looking for the best young bands in town to compete in the Battle of the Bands Oct. 19. But there are only two days left to sign up.

Here's more from the City of Mission Viejo:

Young musicians listen up: You have just days left to join the Battle of the Bands on Oct. 19 at Rock 'N Road OC at the city of Mission Viejo's Walk Against Drugs fair site.

Junior high and high school bands can enter online by midnight Friday, Oct. 11 at rocknroadoc.info for the chance to win a recording session and prizes. Entries will be judged on technical ability, creativity and energy. Three finalists will compete on stage October 19 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. after the City's annual Walk Against Drugs at Oso Viejo Park, 24932 Veterans Way.

First place wins a free supervised recording session at the legendary Westlake Recording Studios where Michael Jackson's "Thriller" was recorded. All three finalists will win prizes from Guitar Center and Lucky Strike. Emblem3, the 2011 Rock 'N Road OC winners, went on to "X-Factor" fame and a 2013 tour.

Rock 'N Road is the county's official kickoff event for Red Ribbon Week to promote drug/alcohol-free lifestyles among teens. It will follow the 25th Annual Walk Against Drugs that begins at 8 a.m. with a 30-minute rally at Mission Viejo High School Stadium, 25025 Chrisanta Drive. David Wagner, a three-time Olympic gold medalist and the top-ranked quadriplegic tennis player, will kick off the day speaking at the rally. Wagner is one of 38 Superhumans who will compete in the Wheelchair Tennis Masters November 5-11 at the Marguerite Tennis Pavilion.

After the rally, the crowd of more than 3,000 sporting red T-shirts will form a red ribbon as they walk down La Paz Road through the Oso Creek Trail to the Community Fair on the Village Green at Oso Viejo Park, 24932 Veterans Way. The fair is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and includes the 6th annual Rock 'N Road OC, inflatables, obstacle courses, games and free hot dogs from Mission Viejo Rotary Club, chicken nuggets from Chick-fil-A, and Ruby’s Diner will treat the crowd to free root-beer floats. The winner of Rock 'N Road will be announced at 1 p.m.
