Video: Mission Viejo Alum Told Slash to Call Axl Rose

Guns 'n Roses drummer Matt Sorum tried to patch the band back together before their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, according to a recent interview.

Mission Viejo's contribution to Guns 'n Roses tried to patch the band up before the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction Saturday night, but wasn't successful.

Matt Sorum wanted the band's lead guitarist Slash to call rock star Axl Rose and bury the hatchet, the drummer told Artisan News Service in the video to the left of this article:

"I said Slash, Slash why don't you call Izzy (Stradlin, founding G'nR guitarist), and then you call Axl. But, didn't happen I guess."

Sorum joined G'nR in 1990 for their multi-platinum albums Use your Illusion I and II.

He said he's happy to have the band's original lineup perform at the ceremony.

"I'll be happy eating my steak or whatever they're going to feed me watching it," he says in the video.
