You know him for his outrageous song parodies, kinky long hair and accordion. But for a growing number of young fans, "Weird Al" Yankovic is better known for his children's books.
Yankovic will sign copies of his new kids book, "My New Teacher and Me," Sunday, Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way. Book sales will begin at 9 a.m.
This is Yankovic's second picture book. His first, "When I Grow Up," reached the New York Times Best Seller list.
Both of Yankovic's books are dedicated to his 10-year-old daughter Nina, and he calls her the "primary influence" for both books. He told lifeinla.com he was inspired by Dr. Seuss and Shel Silverstein to write books for kids.
