Vocational Visions’ 10th annual Enchanted Evening Fundraiser Nets $100K!

Vocational Visions Enchanted Evening Fabulous 50's Fundraiser Nets $100K and Honors Calisson Inc.

Vocational Visions’ 10th annual Enchanted Evening fundraiser generated net proceeds of approximately $100,000 and recognized Calisson Inc. owners Helene Dumoulin-Montgomery and Steve Montgomery as 2013 Employer of the Year.

The theme Enchanted Evening…in the Fabulous 50s was widely recognized by over 350 guests in 50’s attire with all proceeds to support the programs and services of Vocational Visions to provide vocational, economic and social services to adults with disabilities.

Co-chaired by community leaders Linda Baird and Dr. Linda Albers, the lively fundraiser featured an expansive silent auction with over 135 items in addition to art pieces prepared by Vocational Visions participants.   Master sommelier Peter Neptune served as both emcee and auctioneer and the combined auctions brought in $43,645.

Vocational Visions has partnered with Calisson Inc. since late 2010 through their Work Activity Program which assembles the very popular infant teether named, Sophie the Giraffe. Calisson Inc. supports Vocational Visions participants and their earning potential with consistent dedication and steady stream of orders for “Sophie” keeps Vocational Visions’ Work Activity Program working year round.
The evening highlight was a heartwarming performance by Vocational Visions participants which featured dance routines to several popular 50’s hits. Musical entertainment and dancing followed to the music of Scott Robertson, aka, OC Elvis.  Vocational Visions longtime executive director Kathryn Hebel, set to retire in June, was recognized for her 38-year career with the organization.
