Study: 1 in 4 Mission Viejo Kids Overweight

A quarter of the children in Mission Viejo are overweight or obese, and that's fewer than the county average.

A new study says that one in every four Mission Viejo kids is overweight or obese.

UCLA researchers studied students from 250 California cities in 5th, 7th and 9th grade. They found that 25.1 percent of Mission Viejo's children are overweight or obese.

That's lower than the county average (33.3 percent) and the state average (38 percent).
