Love those gourmet-every-day food trucks? They usually avoid all points south of Irvine—until today!
Under a new arrangement, food trucks are expected to appear at lunch time in front of every Wednesday.
This week there will be six trucks:
Calbi is a Mexican/Korean fusion that offers Kimchee Quesadillas, Beef Shortrib Tacos, Tofu Burritos and the like.
The name gives it away—expect all kinds of crepes from this food truck. There are savory crepes like the Baby Bleu (bleu cheese crumbles, seasoned chicken, baby spinach leaves & raspberry vinaigrette dressing). There's also sweet stuff like the HazelBerryAna (fresh sliced strawberry, banana & Nutella).
If you love exotic meats, Brats Berlin is for you. These sausages come in all flavors, from kangaroo to rattlesnake to wild boar.
The Lime Truck
The focus of the Lime Truck is fresh, healthy and tasty. Whether you want a Yum Yum Lamb Sandwich (Marinated ground lamb patty inside flat bread, traditional veggies, homemade tzatziki and Sriracha hot sauce) or perhaps Ahi Tuna Poke Nachos (Fresh tuna, pickled veggies, and edamame hummus served with fresh chips), there's a little something for everyone.
TJ's Woodfire Pizza
TJ's emphasizes traditional pizza styles like the Margherita (fresh mozzarella, basil, sea salt, extra virgin olive oil, tomato sauce), four cheese pizza and Big Al, which is simply Italian sausage, pepperoni and tomato sauce.
Mustache Mike's Truck
Mustache Mike serves up Italian ice in many flavors. Their top 15 flavors include Bada Bing Cherry and Da Bomb (Bada Bing Cherry/Bada Boom Blue Razz/Lemon Squeezy).
