Mice Close South Mission Viejo Pizza Place

A pizza place on the Marguerite/Crown Valley Parkway interesection was briefly closed by the health department earlier this month.

Jojo's Pizza Kitchen at 27620 Marguerite closed March 18 after health inspectors found rodent droppings and one dead mouse inside the kitchen.

According to the report, rodent droppings were found in corners, on boxes used for pizza delivery, on bulk sugar container lids in the storage room, and under the soda machine. A dead mouse in a glue trap was spotted behind the ice machine, the report said.

The restaurant was allowed to reopen the same day. The report detailing the reopening was unavailable from the county website.

The restaurant has a 3-star average Yelp score based on 41 reviews.

One Yelp reviewer named "Brad H." rated the restaurant with two stars, noting: "The lights behing the Jojos sign were burned out. The cash registers sit on old pizza boxes. The place needs a good cleaning and organization; looks messy and haphazard."
