Ron Galonsky, a former executive at O’Connor Hospital in San Jose, has been named to a new post at Mission Hospital: chief operations and integration officer.
Mission Hospital says the job will combine the traditional role of a chief operating officer with “a new dimension of integration as Mission Hospital looks to more effectively connect” with services throughout the community, in addition to physician partners and St. Joseph Health's other Southern California hospitals.
In his more 23 years of leadership experience in the health care field, Mission Hospital said, Galonsky most recently served as chief operating officer and senior vice president of O’Connor, a ministry of the Daughters of Charity Health System. Before working at O’Connor, Galonsky was CEO of Watsonville Community Hospital and a senior vice president of operations and site administrator for Centra Health.
He is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and a mentor in the ACHE Leadership Mentoring Network. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Duke University and his Master of Health Administration from the Medical College of Virginia.
Galonsky has “a great understanding of our values and mission and is uniquely qualified to serve our ministry as we plan for the future,” said Kenneth D. McFarland, president and CEO of Mission Hospital.
