Roaches Close Mission Viejo Fro-Yo Stop

Health inspectors closed a frozen yogurt place after finding cockroaches.

A Mission Viejo frozen yogurt shop near Trabuco Hills High School was recently closed after health inspectors found cockroaches inside.

Cherry on Top at 28181 Marguerite between Ralphs and TJ Maxx was closed the day before Halloween. It was allowed to reopen the next day.

Dead roaches were found inside the open yogurt mixing machine. They were also found under storage shelves and the upright cooler. Live cockroaches were seen around the mop sink and on ledges above another sink.

Three minor violations were also noted on Oct. 30, including "accumulated filth and food debris under the upright coolers and freezers."

Inspectors returned on Halloween and reopened the business after no more cockroaches were spotted. Gaps and holes had also been sealed.
