Where to Get Free Coffee for National Coffee Day 2012

Get your caffeine on in Mission Viejo and celebrate with a free cup of coffee.

If the first words out of your mouth every morning are, “I’ll have a large coffee”—or if you can’t even speak until after you’ve had your java fix—there's a National Holiday created especially for you.

America will put staunch tea drinkers to shame on National Coffee Day on Sept. 29, when coffee fiends can rejoice and celebrate their beloved coffee bean with free brew from national chains.

Several chains are giving away java on different days, though. To find out where and when to get your free cup, check our list below.

Coffee was first brought to America in the mid-1600s in a shipment en route to “New Amsterdam,” now known as New York, according to the National Coffee Association. We have that shipment and the Boston Tea Party to thank for turning the nation into coffee drinkers.

National coffee chains will be giving out free cups of coffee during the week of Sept. 23:

  • McDonald's restaurants along the East Coast will be giving away free 12-ounce coffees every day from Sept. 23 through Sept. 29. No purchase is necessary, and coffee will be available in the drive-thru or in the restaurants. There is one McDonald's in Mission Viejo.
  • It’s CofFREE Day at 7-Eleven, which means a free large coffee for anyone who stops by a participating 7-Eleven store between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Sept. 28.
  • Krispy Kreme is offering one free 12-ounce House Blend Coffee per customer at participating stores on Sept. 29, with no purchase necessary. The company is also holding a contest in conjunction with their 75th anniversary. Participants will have a chance to win two free bags of coffee per month for the next year.

What’s your favorite blend, and where do you get it? Know someone else celebrating National Coffee Day? Tell us in the comments.

Tom Thumb you didn't read section 1021(b)(2) closely enough. It wouldn't apply to those arming theRead More rebels because of the word "suspicion." We know they are arming the rebels. See the difference. 1021(b)(2) only applies to those we "suspect" like you. Notice how the word "reasonable" doesn't appear anywhere near "suspicion"? Hmmmm wonder why that would be. Section 1021(b)(2) seems to be the modern day "suspicion of lurking with intent."

Shoot, I don't know about that. What we are hearing now is Obama/McCain are pushing to arm theRead More rebels who are supporting and are part of Al Qaeda: www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-22095099

Hey Avery, I am totally stealing the "suspicion of lurking with intent" phrase. It mightRead More even flourish on reddit.

Graphs like this are sometimes created (and/or distributed) by persons with a deep understandingRead More (and/or appreciation) of things like this: 3. Something uncommon or unusual. 4. ~Astrophysics~ A point in space-time at which gravitational forces cause matter to have infinite density and infinitesimal volume, and space and time to become infinitely distorted. 5. ~Mathematics~ A point at which the derivative does not exist for a given function but every neighborhood of which contains points for which the derivative exists. Also called singular point.
