What, Me Blog?

Bloggers are mad. Or so they say. But, surely, you must have something you want to express. A passion in your life

Bloggers are mad. Or so they say. But, surely, you must have something you want to express. A passion in your life…something you absolutely love to talk about…you know at a cocktail party when you trap someone against the wall and their eyes glaze over as you wax prolific about the nesting habits of the Common Loon.

Or maybe you’re the shy wallflower type who lives the rich interior life of the intellectual monolog. Either way you can jot down your thoughts and publish them here at the Mission Viejo Patch for free. That’s right, folks, no money down; no easy monthly payments of $29.95 like some web sites out there.

If you don’t have a passion, please ask someone to check to make sure you’re still breathing. It’s important, breathing, right up there at the top of the stuff we're addicted to list.

Patch exists, in part, because AOL thinks there is money to be made by giving people a voice in their own communities. More power to them for those thoughts. They, the AOL Suits, also think Mission Viejo is one such place to make money giving people a voice. The Suits must have their reasons. I doubt they got to the 46th floor of a Manhattan skyscraper by being dead wrong. We’d be daft not to take them up on this deal. We really would.

Someday they will sober up and realize there is a lot more money to be made by sensationalizing the news into outright lies, just like the rest of the media. So if you call within the next ten minutes, we will also include the amazing, totally free, Ajax self-sharping razor with 15 blades for the closest shave…razor not included.

Let’s get some conversations going here in Mission Viejo. We’re already off to a rollicking start thanks to people like and . Both gentlemen have provoked interesting discussions in the last week or so. Join in. Be provocative. It’s easier than you’d imagine.

You can blog about anything.

  • Aspects of your business and why they're important for people to understand.
  • Your hobbies and how they’ve helped you grow as a person.
  • The latest books you’ve read and why you think someone else should read them.
  • What it’s like to raise a kid alone.
  • Why building dams interferes with the nesting habits of the Common Loon.

The possibilities are endless (the days of the Common Loon, not so much).

Our friends, those kind-hearted folks over at Side Six, have slapped some cheat sheets up online to help you get started. They didn’t spend a lot of time designing them, but they are responsive and will look great on your smart phones and iPads. You can check out “How To Set Up A Patch Blog” to get up and running. Then you can read “The Patch Text Editor” which will walk you through the online text editor at the Patch.
