OC Costume is Finalist in Patch's National Halloween Contest

A Mission Viejo man will collect $250 for the best entry in California and could win the $5,000 grand prize in Patch's Best Halloween Costume in America competition.

You know what they say—no (goblin) guts, no glory.

Congratulations to Jason Smith, a history teacher who has been chosen as the California winner of Patch’s Best Halloween Costume in America Contest.

Smith will receive $250 for winning California and move on to compete for the $5,000 national grand prize.

Parents posted hundreds of costume photos of themselves and their families from this Halloween or from years past. We had lots of ghouls, ghosts, and Honey Boo Boos to choose from, but Smith's porta-potty costume won us over. (For more laughs, be sure to watch the attached video of the costume too.)

The grand prize winner will be announced Monday, Nov. 12. To see other Orange County contest entries, click here.

Well done but not Halloween. More like a gimmick.

Thanks for all your nice comments. Jason is an amazing husband and father. He loves Halloween and worked very hard to make four homemade costumes for our family this year (including Landspeeder shown in the video).
This Porta Potty costume was so fun for him to make because it captures the fun of Halloween by making people smile and laugh. It's hard to see the details in the pictures posted but they make it even more hillarious. He made a toliet paper holder, occupied sign, cleaning log and some signs that say, "Ameri-Can Services" with a caption reading, "Doing our patriotic dooty since 1776", and a picture of an eagle carrying a toilet. The number to call is (888)4-Relief and says under it "We're #1 in the #2 business. And of course it all ties together as he is reading the election guide. He had so much fun watching kids and adults laugh and pose for pictures with him.

Tom Thumb you didn't read section 1021(b)(2) closely enough. It wouldn't apply to those arming theRead More rebels because of the word "suspicion." We know they are arming the rebels. See the difference. 1021(b)(2) only applies to those we "suspect" like you. Notice how the word "reasonable" doesn't appear anywhere near "suspicion"? Hmmmm wonder why that would be. Section 1021(b)(2) seems to be the modern day "suspicion of lurking with intent."

Shoot, I don't know about that. What we are hearing now is Obama/McCain are pushing to arm theRead More rebels who are supporting and are part of Al Qaeda: www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-22095099

Hey Avery, I am totally stealing the "suspicion of lurking with intent" phrase. It mightRead More even flourish on reddit.
You're welcome!

Graphs like this are sometimes created (and/or distributed) by persons with a deep understandingRead More (and/or appreciation) of things like this: 3.
