California's Solar Market Continues to Grow

This month marked a 2-gigawatt landmark for solar generators in California! Over the past five years the solar market has grown by leaps and bounds. In California alone there are over 43,700 solar jobs.

California leads the U.S. in solar and has doubled the amount of solar installed in just under one year. According to the GTM Research 2012 U.S. Solar Market Insight Report, California had installed 2,537.4 megawatts of installed solar capacity at the end of 2012.

With the decision to shut down San Onofre Nuclear Power Plant made by Southern California Edison and San Diego Gas and Electric, solar will start to fill the gap with clean renewable energy for local communities.

Mission Viejo property owners are able to generate clean energy for their communities by going solar through the Mission Viejo Solar Program. This program was created by Sullivan Solar Power and offers up to $1,500 cash back to go solar now through Monday, June 17, 2013 at 5 p.m. Local residents have been jumping on the solar bandwagon to take advantage of this limited time opportunity to get paid to go solar.
