Mission Viejo Solar Program Ending Soon

Mission Viejo Solar Program pays residents to go solar through June 17, 2013

(Mission Viejo, Calif.) June 12, 2013 – The city of Mission Viejo is no stranger to solar power. To date Mission Viejo has over 300 residential solar installations. Sullivan Solar Power launched the Mission Viejo Solar Program in early March, and this comprehensive program allows property owners in Mission Viejo to get paid up to $1,500 to go solar.

Local residents having been feverishly signing up to go solar through the Mission Viejo Solar Program. To date, fifteen residents have signed up and 66 residents have received custom proposals for their homes. Combined over 86,000 watts of solar power are currently scheduled to be installed within the community and given the high level of interest in the program, it is predicted by program administrator, Sullivan Solar Power, that an additional 40,000 watts will be scheduled before the program closes on June 17.

The program provides Mission Viejo homeowners and businesses the financial tools to go solar for no money out of pocket. The monthly payments participants make for their solar power systems are often times much less than the electric bill that the solar power system eliminated. According to Sullivan, a homeowner with a current electric bill of $234 can go solar with a new monthly payment of $189 for a 20 year lease. In addition, after the system is installed, the Mission Viejo Solar Program will give participants a cash back payment. With the current program incentives available, participants in Mission Viejo will receive a check up to $1,500.

"Lower Energy Costs and declaring energy independence is a no-brainer investment decision, the investment pays for itself in five years and roughly 15% ROI y/y for the life of the system” said Prithpal Bhogill, a program participant, “I feel good being part of the green movement and I hope this motivates more and more people to get aboard the band wagon. We have a lot of sun-shine in the state of California; let’s put it to good use to secure and our upcoming generations’ future."

The Mission Viejo Solar Program ends June 17 at 5:00 p.m. Residents who are interested in going solar can visit www.MissionViejoSolarProgram.org or call 1-800-SULLIVAN to set-up a free site evaluation.
