Democrats Set Headquarters in Mission Viejo

Gearing up for the election, local Democrats have set up shop in Mission Viejo.

Notice anything new on the corner of La Paz and Marguerite?

Local Democrats have set up an election headquarters at 27001 La Paz, Suite 194. They can be reached at 949-586-4943, said Connie Lawson, whose husband Walt is president of Canyon Democrats.

The new headquarters is the combined effort of Canyon Democrats and the South Orange County Democratic Club.

Mission Viejo's Deputy Chairman or the OCGOP, Connie Lee, said Republicans don't plan to build a headquarters in town this year. But if you want to work for Orange County's Republican division, you can contact the OCGOP at 714-453-0900.

Thank you Wendy!

I'll have to drop by and ask what our President will do in a second trem that he didn't try to do in his first term. And ask what he was waiting for.

RW DM Come on down! love to talk with you, buddy.
Erin September 12, 2012 at 04:03 PM
There are 16,000+ of us here in Mission Viejo.
Connie September 12, 2012 at 05:05 PM
What President Obama will do is actually work, which the treasonous republicans who can't stand a black man in office WON"T do. Republicans need to quit filibustering everything he try's to pass, regardless whether it was a republican idea in the first place.

I'm hoping for a bumper sticker that says... "TURN ORANGE COUNTY BLUE" So we can tell how many of us there are. I will be at headquarters sometime this week to sign up to volunteer

Excellent! If you build it they will come! Great location and yes, have no doubts there are plenty of Democrats in the OC and in South County and we are a mighty bunch!!! President Obama 2012!!!
Helene September 12, 2012 at 05:46 PM
You would be very surprised at the number of walk ins we get. When I moved to the OC, I felt the same way. But am thrilled at how many in MV and the whole of the OC are good Dems and are very willing to work hard to keep President Obama right where he is for the next 4 years. We have a great headquarters, please come by and visit or volunteer Helene

A great little office for some amazing candidates! Go Dems!

I'll stop in later this week after my wife's surgery. I hope you won't shoot me after my piece on Obama runs this evening here on the Patch. However, I am a life-long dem, more radical than liberal, a former member of the S.D.S,; the sort who wishes Humphrey had prevailed with health care at the convention in the 1930's. Or that Teddy Roosevelt had with health care in 1919. :)
Pat September 12, 2012 at 06:38 PM
Yes, we built it and they ARE coming! Too bad for the old line GOP; they have been taken over by birthers, tea partiers and extremists who also think they have a say in what happens between women and their doctors. And you can bet that they will be down and dirty from now to the election. We really are a mighty bunch. Go DEMS!
Dan Avery September 12, 2012 at 06:54 PM
Pat, It is too bad the old line GOP has been taken over by the idiot right. I've been working closely with moderate and conservative Republicans ever since the recall because there is a bunch of the right wing loonies who want to take over the council so they can do things like privatize the library, privatize the animal shelter, reduce the number of School Resource Officers and Crossing Guards, or make the schools pay for those services completely, and so on. That means we need to know who the sane Republicans are in town and who isn't sane. Because there isn't a dem running for city council. Ury and Bucknum are the only two sane Republicans running. Ed Sachs attends ACT for America meetings, and has said vile racist things in print. Schlicht wanted to demolish the Church of the Master in order to put in a roundabout at Oso and Marguerite. She also advocates having our already impoverished schools pay for School Resource Officers and Crossing Guards http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSD4dvfEjv0 Desi Kiss is a Schlicht wanna be who brings Dale Tyler to city meetings with him. Tyler is that fool who ran for city council having lived here 23 years without a valid CA driver's license and who had only registered one of the three cars he kept at his MV home here in CA. He's now President of the Saddleback Republican Assembly.

I am an amateur photographer who would love the opportunity to photograph some events. I am also a Dem...:)

Orange County continues to turn Blue as independents and reasonable voters are not confused by what our right wing brothers have been doing to the County for so long. Another visit by a high ranking Democratic candidate (Obama or Biden) would go a long way to amplify the support that exists in the Orange County for investing in clean solar energy, keeping teachers in classrooms, improving roads, bridges, and freeways, and keeping America safe in a post 9/11 world. In bringing Osama Bin Laden to justice, our President demonstrated his resolve to punish our adversaries and to bring our troopshome from Iraq.

The Democrats have proven time and again, they are the party of the people, not for the big corporations as the Republicans are. To all you Republicans out there, I'd like to see you give up your Social Security and Medicare benefits if you're receiving them, because they were created by the party of the people, the Democrats. President Obama has lead with dignity these 4 years, despite the 2 Houses doing everything they could to prevent legislation from being passed. How can intelligent people align themselves with Romney, Ryan and the Radical Right? Wake up, it's not to late to become a Democrat. Just come by our office on La Paz and we'll gladly re-register you. Anita Zinkin

Agreed ~ four years, no hope, just change, barely...in my pocket! Connie, you need another argument...
karen September 12, 2012 at 11:32 PM
Not the party of big corporations? I guess you don't think of Edison, GM, Walt Disney, CBS, Comcast...etc? The list goes on and on...be informed. Corporations belong to both parties Anita

We need reasonable, pragmatic leaders in today's world, not idealogues who cannot see past their noses! That is why we need President Obama, and good democratic congressmen like Sukhee Kang and Jerry Tetalman to support his progams for progress. Keep on getting out the message. Elizabeth
