How to do a Perfect Pushup | Part One
Want to get all the benefit and none of the pain from your pushups? Read on.
The pushup challenge is going strong and I have been faithful, except for Mother's Day. On Mother's Day my son did them for me. I did, however, take pictures of him doing the pushups. I'm sure I got some benefit from that. Parents can live vicariously once and a while.
After the first week or so of the challenge, I had a flare up of upper back pain from an old injury.
I went for a massage and it helped dramatically. The massage, by the way, was at Elements Therapeutic Massage. My therapist did a great job and I talked him into doing the pushup challenge while I was there. He was a captive audience. I had 55 minutes to sell him on the benefits of pushups while he sold me on the benefits of a good sports massage. He's doing 125 a day to catch up and will probably need a massage soon himself.

The pain I experienced made me think about the importance of having really good form when executing any exercise. It was probably a form issue that created my original injury.
