Paul's Pantry held a contest to find out.
We know you were wondering about the 4th of July cinnamon roll-eating contest at Paul's Pantry. Because just how many cinnamon rolls can a determined person eat in 20 minutes?
We finally have the answer.
Six.
Two of the 12 hungry contestants managed to eat six and start their seventh in Friday's first-ever contest, reports the Mission Viejo-based restaurant. As each roll was consumed, a new one was brought out.
Matt Cohen and Benjamin Skelding each won $50 gift certificates ... and we're thinking they didn't exactly turn around and spend that.
Two hundred rolls were prepared the day before, and cooks Gilberto Montes and David Heller started rising the dough at 4:30 a.m.
"There will definitely be one next year!" said Manager Gavin Gallardo.
