Boxer Louie Saved By The Pet Rescue Center

Louie is a 3 yr old unaltered male Boxer mix, saved on January 29, 2014, by The Pet Rescue Center. He had come in as a stray to the county shelter and had very little time left. This sweet boy needed serious attention, but he was not available to the public due to his medical condition.

Louie is suffering from sarcoptic mange which is a common skin mite that can take over the whole body when immune systems are down. He is severely underweight and has been neglected with this condition for a very long time.

The PRC takes in cases like this quite often. Louie just needs time, love and treatments. His skin condition is very fixable, and we want nothing more than to see him comfortable and out of pain and itch-free. It will be about 3-4 months before we see a full recovery, but recovery is a definite for this boy.

We hope that you will help us support Louie with his medical needs and boarding fees as we help him through this process. He is going to make someone very happy when he is in good health. Even through all his discomfort, Louie is a total 'wiggle butt' and shows nothing but gratitude for being with us. Please make a donation today and help Louie.

About The Pet Rescue Center
The Pet Rescue Center, located inside Alicia Pet Care Center in Mission Viejo, is a 501c3 non-profit organization that rescues, rehabilitates, and re-homes pets saved from euthanasia at high-kill shelters and other at-risk situations. These pets are provided with a veterinarian-supervised, temporary sanctuary, while The Pet Rescue Center works to find an adopting family for them. To date, The Pet Rescue Center has successfully saved and adopted out almost 700 dogs and cats from possible death. Some of these animals needed major medical treatment, and all of the dogs and cats were spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, dewormed, flea treated, and fully vaccinated prior to being made available for adoption. To view their adoptable pets, to volunteer, or to make a donation, please visit them online at www.thepetrescuecenter.org or call 877.277.7938.
