Phones Aren't Just For Goofing Off

Why a phone in class isn't always just for goofing off.

I'm a very techy sort of person. I own (or wish to own) the latest gadgets and games and love using them as a part of my life. I organise myself on Evernote, use OneNote, Powerpoint, and Word regularly, and use my laptop for German homework. It's awesome to be in the ATMS program because the teachers are totally supportive when it comes to using technology, but then comes the problem of the non-ATMS classes.

I use Evernote on my phone as a kind of homework planner in lieu of the paper one. However, some of my teachers do not let me use my phone at all, even if I have proved to them I use my planner on it. I then have to write the homework somewhere random, and after class, after all the movement and distraction, put the assignment back into the phone. It just adds a bit more annoyance to the day.

Usually I get as the opposing argument, "You could just be playing games." I don't think that makes much sense, considering I'd pick up my phone, plug in the assignment, and lock it back up again.
