A CoverGirl's Wish is Fulfilled- Margot Ferron

Talia Joy Castellano was honored at National Night Out at the Target, 25601 Jeronimo Rd, Mission Viejo 92691 on Aug. 6, 2013 by the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Mission Viejo.  She inspired tweens, teens and adults with her upbeat positive attitude and bubbly spirit. 

Castellano lost her six year battle to cancer on July 16, 2013. In 2007, Castellano was diagnosed with Stage 4 neuroblastoma, an aggressive cancer.  She underwent chemotherapy and went into remission for 13 months.  However the cancer returned the next year.  For several years, she was in and out of remission.

Adults and kids alike came to honor her by completing #25 on her bucket list.   “Cover a car in sticky notes.”   They did by covering a red, Honda CRV.

“It is amazing what you can write and draw on one post it note, but you should see what is on more than 1,000 brightly colored notes, “ said Margot Ferron, the coordinator of the Post it Note Rally.

Groups came--Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, soccer teams and more.  Lion’s Heart members and members of the Mission Viejo Activities Committer volunteered.   They not only fulfilled this wish on her bucket list, but they gave out “Free Hugs” as well.

Every note had a message, positive words of encouragement, hearts, peace signs, fish, well wishes for her and her family.
