Get Your Healthy On! Start the Year with A Better You

Community Health Fair to complement the Farmers Market on Jan. 11, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 200 Civic Center Dr., Mission Viejo.

The Mission Viejo Farmers Market, known for its healthy produce, will host a free Community Health Fair to complement the market on Friday, Jan. 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 200 Civic Center Drive near the library

Attendees can meet experts in our community at more than 30 informative and interactive booths. Special guests will be Dr. Anand Ganesan and Ashley Santo Domingo. Dr. Ganesan, a UCI researcher, will discuss melanoma cancer, treatment and prevention. Santo Domingo, an executive chef at Whole Foods and a season nine contestant on “Top Chef,” will whip up a healthy meal demonstrating her culinary skills.

Some of the vendors include Yoga Works, Mission Hospital and Relay For Life of Mission Viejo. Members of the Relay Committee will be present to answer your questions and provide information. Relay will officially kick off on Jan. 24.

Free testing and screening will be available to check your blood pressure, body fat, cholesterol, glucose plus Heartfelt Cardiac Projects will perform ECHO and EKG tests on site. Make an appointment at heartfeltcardiacprojects.org

As you can see, there is something for everyone at the market—the Sierra Recreation Center will get you moving with its new Boot Camp and kids can enjoy activities at Diane’s Craft Corner.
