National Day of Prayer- Margot Ferron

National Day of Prayer

The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May each year.  Initially, the United States Congress designated this day for people to turn to God in meditation and prayer.

More than 25 churches have joined together for this special evening, May 2 to be held at the Mission Viejo Civic Center, 200 Civic Center, Mission Viejo from 7- 8:15 pm.  Everyone in the Saddleback area are invited to unite in worship and an evening of prayer.   Pastors from various local churches will pray for God to bless our community and our country.

Traditionally, the President of the United States signs a proclamation encouraging Americans to pray on this day.   This observance was enacted in 1952.
