Calling all Chili Chefs! Bring on the Spices- Margot Ferron

Community of Character will host a chili cook-off to benefit the American Cancer Society’s 20th Relay for Life of Mission Viejo on Sat., March 15, 2014 at the Norman P. Murray Community Center, 24932 Veterans Way, MV 92691 from 11:30 am – 2 pm.

Chili chefs are invited to whip up their best batches of chili for a good cause.  Anyone 14 years and older can compete.   If you are under 14 years old you need to be accompanied by an adult.  Application forms are available online at http://cityofmissionviejo.org/ViewDocument.aspx?id=20952.  Deadline to apply is March 4, 2014 at 5pm.

You will need to bring a minimum of eight quarts and provide a list of the ingredients in the chili due to allergy purposes.  Your chili, meat or vegetable, will be judged on appearance, taste and originality.   Chili recipes must be alcohol free.  Come sample the various chilies for $5.

The entry fee is $25.   The winner will receive $50 and an apron.  The winner will be announced at 1:45 pm on the day of the cook-off.
