Mission Viejo City Commissioner is Running For City Council - Margot Ferron

On Wed., Nov. 6, 2013 from 5:30–7:30 pm at the Mission Viejo Country Club, 26200 Country Club Dr., MV, 92691, host committee members invite you to join them in supporting Wendy Bucknum for Mission Viejo City Council.

Wendy Bucknum came to Mission Viejo from Buffalo, New York 30 years ago. For the past 21 years, Bucknum has lived in Mission Viejo with her husband and two children.

As a teenager she worked in her community’s city hall.    Since then she has been active in public service primarily in the private sector, but also volunteers at her children's schools, sports teams and church.

Currently, Bucknum holds national certifications and designations through Community Associations Institute as a Professional Community Association Manager, an Association Management Specialist and a Certified Manager of Community Associations.

In the community, Bucknum serves as a Mission Viejo City Commissioner;  past Chair of the Community Services Commission, is on the Board of the South Orange County Regional Chamber of Commerce and is serving as Chair.

In 2011, she was the recipient of the Advocate of the Year Award presented due to her extraordinary efforts in regional issues.  She serves on OC Supervisor Patricia Bates Annual Senior Summit Planning Committee.

It is important to Bucknum to run for City Council to make Mission Viejo a better place to do business and protect the unique character that makes the city great.

“I will work to eliminate unnecessary red tape and fees that only serve as hurdles to business expansion and curtail private property rights.   The council must also hold the line on wasteful spending in order to maintain the city’s 50% budget surplus and AAA bond rating,” said Bucknum.
