Currently, we have 18 teams.  It only takes five or more people to form your own team under the name of a church groups, businesses, schools, families and friends honoring loved ones.  If you are really clever, you can create your own team name.

How can you get involved?  You can form a team; join a team or just volunteer to help.   Now is a good time to start requesting your colleagues, family and friends to join your team.

Relay brings an array of participants together to fight against cancer.  It’s a unique way to inspire hope and to create awareness to help those facing the disease.

You don’t need to be a runner or even a walker to participate.   The common thread is to have team members’ continuously walking, running or rolling around the track for 24 hours to celebrate those who have survived cancer, remember those we have lost to the disease and to empower everyone to fight back against cancer.

Relay is a healing experience for those fighting cancer.  It offers them a chance to meet others who have claimed victory over cancer.  This is a great, free family event for the community, but it wouldn’t be possible without the teams.

Please join us at the 20th Relay for Life/Mission Viejo Committee Meeting on Thursday, Dec.19, 2013.  The committee meets the third Thursday of each month at 7 pm at NPM Community & Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way, MV 92692.

Anyone within the city of Mission Viejo or the surrounding area is welcome to join us.   You can put your talents to work making this a world with more holidays.
