Early round games are supposed to be the easiest for teams that are good. But Friday turned out to be a tough night for some opponents of lightly regarded Orange County teams.
Chief among them was Trabuco Hills, which scored a stunning victory in Division 1AA of the Southern Section/Ford Basketball Championships.
The Mustangs weren't the only team that prospered against a higher seeded opponent. Capistrano Valley Christian and St. Margaret's also excelled in second round games.
But it wasn't all good news for local teams. Tesoro and Dana Hills were among those programs expected to win but who didn't.
