Lavender Lemonade: Massage Heights Mission Viejo Recipe of the Month
A quick and tasty recipe for lavender lemonade/limeade, just in time for Mother's Day.
As the weather warms up, here's a cool drink that's sure to please:
Lavender Lemonade/Limeade
Makes: 6 cups

Here's what you'll need:
1 cup sugar

1/4 cup (a generous handful) fresh or 1 tablespoon dried lavender blooms (culinary)
1 cup freshly squeezed lemon or lime juice or a mixture of both
Ice cubes
Lavender sprigs for garnish
- Make a simple syrup by combining sugar with 2 1/2 cups water in a medium pan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring to dissolve the sugar.
- Add lavender blooms to the sugar water, cover, and remove from heat. Let mixture steep for 30 minutes or up to several hours.
- Strain mixture and discard lavender. Pour infusion into a glass pitcher. Add lemon/lime juice and another 2 1/2 cups water. Stir and refrigerate.
- Serve over ice and garnish with lavender sprigs.
