Getting Lost With the iPhone's Map Program

As an Electrical Contractor, I constantly find myself using the GPS navigational system on my iPad. There is a problem which haunts me, though-the newest iOS 6 update, for the maps program, is consistently inaccurate. A perfect example of this fact is the picture I posted. You will notice that there was a few mile detour which would have taken me completely out of Coto De Caza, a few miles around town, then back in to my destination! I think not!

It seems that in September of 2012, Apple switched to an older, but updated, version of the maps program they were using before 2007. They completely stopped using the cool, more accurate, version of the Google maps program.

I think there must be a "long cut" setting on my the new iOS system, as opposed to a "

shortcut" setting....and my device is stuck on it!

Looking at the map picture will give you an indication of why I do not fully put my trust in the directions that the GPS selects for me. More times than not, my GPS will give me wild directions, which take me way out-of-the-way, only to bring me back on my originally intended destination....or take me to a completely different address, other than the one I typed in the search bar. The good news is that when you finally arrive at the completely wrong address, because Siri thought it would be funny, you will be able to see a 3D version of that wrong building on your mobile device.

Is there anyone else out there who shares a similar experience with their "advanced" GPS system?
