Then Ehle made a u-turn and sped off, at times reaching speeds up to 100 MPH, Chacon said.

The chase forced resident Robert Myers of Quail Run to swerve into the wrong side of the road on his way to the Albertson's supermarket. He said luckily no traffic was coming his way.

"I was nearly blind sided as the Camry and the police SUV came careening out of the parking lot onto Olympiad," he said.

Finally Ehle crashed into the center divider at the Muirlands/Turf intersection, Chacon said. After a short foot pursuit, Ehle was booked for felony evading and held on $100,000 bail.

The computer technician remains in custody at the Intake Release Center.

Chacon said it is unclear whether Ehle was charged with drunken driving. He said the arrested man was out on bail for a DUI.
